Shawn McNulty’s interest in art goes back to early childhood. Do you have a specific interest that has stuck with you since you were a child that you might want to pursue as a career choice? What would it take for you to follow this dream?

Shawn McNulty came up with a creative solution to painting multiple canvases on the floor. His “palette shoe knife” allows him to remain standing while doing the initial work on the floor before moving to the easel.

Give this technique a try! Lay out a dropcloth or newspapers to protect the floor, pour some paint in a dish on the floor, and tape a heavy piece of cardboard-about 6 inches by 8 inches-to your shoe. Being careful not to get paint on your shoe, paint onto a larger piece of cardboard. What did you find easy or difficult about this process?
