Photographer Michael Daniel had been working for many years before he was named by American Theatre Magazine as one of the most influential theater photographers. This opened doors for him and allowed him to go to New York and work with some of his favorite artists. What do you think would be the “break” you would need to do exactly what you wanted to do? Also what does Daniel want his audiences to get from his work? If you could make a living doing what Daniel does, would you and why?

Daniel prefers being a theater photographer to being a photojournalist. With photojournalism you are forced to answer questions, and he prefers to ask them. Create a photo project in which you ask a question in one photograph and then answer it in another. How do these feel different to you?
