Kristina Estell learns from her audiences and incorporates their ideas into her next work. Write about a time when you learned something from another person’s reaction to your work and how it influenced the work you were doing.

Kristina’s sculptures are modified over and over again and largely depend on the space in which they are installed. Do your own set of experimentation!

Go to a fabric or craft store and buy a few feet of a fabric that is interesting to you in color, texture and movement (or, with the permission of an adult, use a scrap of fabric that is already around your house.) Study the texture and color of the fabric and experiment with arranging it. Kristina’s sculpture resembles blue mountains. What idea or form does your sculpture convey? Try to see if you can convey multiple ideas with the same fabric by using different display methods.
