From her California Building workshop, Amy Rice creates one-of-a-kind mixed media art. Combining real and imagined childhood memories with experiences as a vegetable farmer, Rice has
built a whimsical and sometimes deeply nostalgic body of work. Her arsenal features an exhaustive use of materials such as acrylics, spray paints, Japanese Gocco prints and found objects ranging from time-worn love letters, barn wood, to 100 year old cedar shingles. Rice is driven toward creating grounded connections between her materials and her final pieces, forging an unmistakable milieu of history and future hope.
