Local blues legend “Spider” John Koerner plays “Phoebe” and “Delia’s Gone” and talks about why he has become a champion of the traditional American folk song. Though he originally moved to Minnesota to study engineering, Koerner is now known in the state and around the world for his incredible interpretations of music ranging in styles from psychedelic R&B to the blues and Americana. His first recordings were collaborations with blues artists Dave Ray and Tony Glover. Since then, he has performed throughout North America and Europe.
