From the Field: Simone Perrin

Add sailor to the long list of talents accordion player, theater artist and chanteuse Simone Perrin has mastered. In addition to appearing in the Guthrie Theater’s production of HMS Pinafore later that night, Perrin made time to perform two songs for MN Original onboard a gondola floating down the St. Croix river. Perrin was guided through the high river current by Gondola Romantica owner John Kerschbaum who shipped his custom-made boats from Venice to Stillwater, Minnesota. Stay tuned to tpt for an upcoming episode of MN Original featuring this musical voyage.

From the Field: Gregory Euclide

MN Original just wrapped filming relief painter Gregory Euclide at his hidden forest studio/home. Gregory’s diorama-like paintings negotiate experiences within nature, uses of land, and the mediation between human culture and natural landscapes. His materials harbor multiple meanings, embodying the struggle to preserve the environment and maintain a modern lifestyle. He recently finished the cover art for Bon Iver’s album Bon Iver, and appears in galleries + museums from NY to Paris. Preview Greg traipsing through dense forest and constructing new works, and look for a full profile on Mr. Euclide coming to MN Original soon!
