Local pop rocker Jeremy Messersmith’s shares the secrets of his songwriting process. A dynamic lyricist, Messersmith’s richly orchestrated songs range from melancholy love melodies to politically charged ballads.

Artist Bio:
With his debut album, The Alcatraz Kid in 2005, Jeremy Messersmith gained a national reputation. Dubbed by City Pages as the “premier under-30 songwriter in the Twin Cities,” Messersmith’s personal melodies have been compared to the likes of Elliott Smith and the Beach Boys. Both melancholy and joyful, his songs transcend genre, a magical bend between chamber, rock and pop music.

Messersmith’s music has been featured on NPR, World Cafe Live on WXPN, and MTV’s The Real World. The artist is currently finishing the final leg of his 2010 national tour.
