Hot Metal Mold-Making at Franconia

July 29 – 30, 4 – 8 p.m.

Each​ ​summer​ ​Iron Artists from around the world​ ​join Franconia for a​ sizzling outdoor​ ​iron pour. Franconia invites you to​ ​participate​ ​​in this unique opportunity by scratching a block of sand that will be poured with molten iron, creating your very own iron sculpture after the​ ​Community Collaboration Hot Metal Pour on August 1s​t. ​

MN Fringe Festival

July 30 – August 9

Fringe is an annual performing arts festival in the Twin Cities. For 11 days, over a thousand artists present works in every discipline and genre. No one selects the participating shows. Instead, a lottery determines which of over 400 applicants win production slots in the festival.

Circus Juventas Summer Spectacular: 1001 Nights

July 31 – August 16

What started as a desperate ploy for survival became an epic tale swept from the sands of time. Scheherazade told the Sultan 1001 tales, each more mysterious, exciting, and magical than the last—and in 2015, Circus Juventas brings its own enchantment in 1002 Arabian Nights—The untold story that weaves all others together.

Radical Basketry Invitational

This exhibition displays examples of exceptional work by local basket makers concurrent to the National Basketry Organization’s conference in the Twin Cities. The selection emphasizes work by basket makers that push the boundaries of traditional basket making.

SPACE & TIME B-Girl Be 10-Year Reunion Exhibit at Intermedia Arts

Now through August 22

2015 marks the 10-year anniversary of B-Girl Be, the first international festival showcasing and celebrating women artists in the elements of Hip-Hop. Encompassing MCing, DJing, breakdancing and graffiti, B-Girl Be influenced thousands of artists and audience members since its inception in 2005, challenging and changing the perceptions and roles of women in this revolutionary art form. To commemorate this anniversary, Intermedia Arts presents “Space & Time,” a visual art exhibition that will include new work by artists from previous B-Girl Be exhibitions as well as emerging artists from Hip-Hop scenes around the world.
