Poet Robert Bly’s career spans more than five decades and includes an abundance of accolades including a National Book Award and designation as Minnesota’s first poet laureate. Bly’s writings often focused on men, their role in society and in the family. He is considered by many to be a pioneer of the so-called “Men’s Movement.”
Bly has published more than 40 collections of poetry in his career. In this segment, he shares three of his poems: I Have Daughters and I Have Sons, Keeping Our Small Boat Afloat and Stealing Sugar from the Castle.
