Internationally acclaimed Artaria String Quartet has been preserving and performing the classical repertoire since 1986.

To train the next generation of players, violinists Ray Shows and Nancy Oliveros, cellist Laura Sewell and violist Annalee Wolf began the Artaria Chamber Music School in 2002. Each year the quartet coaches students at the Saint Paul school in the Episcopal Church of St. John’s.

In 2006, Artaria founded the Saint Paul String Quartet Competition, a national high-school level competition, a unique venue for players to network with others of their caliber across the country. Chamber music students have an additional opportunity for intensive study at Stringwood, Artaria’s summer festival and teaching program in Lanesboro, MN.
