2011-2012 McKnight Fellowship recipients Okestar Bez Ime play music out of a Balkan tradition of folk dance music. An offshoot of Minneapolis’ Ethnic Dance Theatre, this six-piece Eastern European folk group incorporates Swedish, Gypsy, Israeli, Armenian and American tunes into their growing repertoire.
