Carl Flink’s Black Label Movement performs HIT, an intensely physical piece inspired by an unlikely collaboration between Flink and biomedical engineer David Odde of the University of Minnesota. Flink and Odde share a fascination with catastrophe and collaborated on The Moving Cell Project where BLM movers served as physical models for molecules within a cell. These cellular collisions inspired Flink to examine impact on a human scale.
HIT was underwritten by the American Composers Forum’s Live Music for Dance Minnesota program in partnership with New Music USA, with matching funds provided by the McKnight Foundation.
