Pamela Sukhum works quickly, sweeping layer after layer of vivid paint onto a canvas with a wide, indelicate brush. This bold, energetic approach to her Natural Surrealism Collection is in stark contrast to her Mystical Surrealism Collection – where one employs oversized brushes and sweeping gestures the other turns to quiet focus and a brush with only a few hairs for the tiniest detail. But the intensity of color in both collections reveal them as work by Sukhum’s hand. Once a researcher in the biomedical field, Sukhum has been painting full time since 2003.
