From teaching the history and fundamental moves of hip-hop to helping coordinate Intermedia Arts’ semiannual B-Girl Be festival, Amy Sackett has become a leader in the Minnesota B-Girl community and beyond. Sackett has over 15 years of professional dance experience working with international stars such as Bow-Wow, Mario, Ashanti, Talib Kwalei, DJ Funk Master Flex and Dead Prez.

In her piece “I’m Muslim, Don’t Panic” Sackett explores the ideas of Muslim women in hip-hop culture. The dance also features two of her most promising students and impressive b-girls in their own right, Kadijah and Iman Siferllah-Griffin.
