Nancy Carlson is an internationally known children’s book author and illustrator. In kindergarten, her teacher asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up. She said, “an artist.” She never strayed from her dream. She went on to graduate from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a degree in printmaking. She has illustrated and authored more than 60 children’s books. Her first was a story about her beloved dog Harriet. The brightest moments are when young students say, “You’re the person who writes the pictures.” Educators' Guide
